What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is a worldwide organisation that issues corporate sustainability ratings.
What does this mean?
It means that companies, both large and small, apply for an assessment with the aim of finding out:
- The degree of compliance with social and environmental practices within the company and in all its processes.
- What improvement plans should be implemented.
By doing so, we show our customers and partners how committed the company is. This also promotes transparency and gives us a starting point for further improvement.
In addition, once assessed, the company enters a database where it can see how it scores in relation to other companies in the same sector, allowing us to see the rating in a defined context.
What is the methodology behind the EcoVadis rating system?
The final grade will depend on performance in the following areas:
- Environment.
- Ethics.
- Labour and human rights.
- Sustainable procurement.
Within these large groups there are a series of criteria (21 in total) that will be analysed using management indicators.
These criteria, in turn, are based on international standards such as ISO 26,000 and on standards set out in the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) and the UN Global Compact.
After the evaluation, EcoVadis generates a sheet showing the performance in these 4 areas individually, together with an overall score ranging from 0 to 100.
Based on this overall score, the company can be awarded a bronze, silver, gold or platinum medal.

In this way, we want to demonstrate to the world that we comply with the criteria established by a world-renowned organisation such as EcoVadis.
